Royals mission comes full circle

CHARLOTTETOWN - Almost nine months ago, the Windsor Royals came together as a team with one goal in mind for the 2008-09 Nova Scotia Junior Hockey league season - to become league champions and win the Don Johnson Atlantic Junior B Championship. Sunday, that mission came full circle as the Royals scored three first period goals en route to a 4-1 defeat of the host Sherwood Falcons at MacLauchlan Arena in Charlottetown.

ROYALS ADVANCE TO DJC FINAL

BY PATRICK HEALEY CHARLOTTETOWN - The Windsor Royals punched their ticket to the championship game here at the Don Johnson Cup Saturday afternoon. Ryan Gale scored the game winner with 8:26 left sending the Royals past Dieppe-Memramcook (N.B.) Voyageurs 3-1 and a berth in the championship game Sunday afternoon.

Royals crown N.B. to even record at DJC

CHARLOTTETOWN - The Windsor Royals got back on the winning track after an opening day loss at the Don Johnson Cup here in Charlottetown. Dylan Shearer scored twice and added an assist while Matt Pongoski turned away 23 of 26 shots he faced to lead the Nova Scotia champions past Dieppe-Memramcook Voyageurs of New Brunswick 6-3 Thursday afternoon at MacLauchlan Arena on the UPEI campus.

Windsor drops first game at DOJO

The Windsor Royals didn't exactly get the start they were looking for at the 2008 Don Johnson Cup Junior B Championship here in Charlottetown Wednesday. The Nova Scotia Junior Hockey League champions fell 7-4 to Newfoundland and Labrador representatives from St. John's. Keith Burgess with a pair led the Royals offense.
